Memorisation Monday
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
1 John 4:10
What is love? Sorry if I’ve just put a song in your head for the rest of the day. But genuinely, what is love? I reckon there’s a bunch of confusion today.
Is love just this feeling you have when you think about, see, touch a certain person? Is love how much you need someone else? Is love a duty or a commitment?
Love is a mixture of a bunch of things. But John points us to a moment that is certainly love.
God sent his Son as sacrifice for people who didn’t love him. Whatever else love is. That’s love.
Tips:
Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
Say it once before you go to sleep.
Say it once more when you wake up.
Pray:
Praise the Father for sending his Son.
GIve thanks for Jesus who loved us sacrificially.
Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others love him and love each other sacrificially.
