Hi Village,
We are a Church that is committed to doing God's work together. We aren't a service or a show, where the Pastor/s do a bunch of stuff as everyone watches along. We encourage everyone to follow Jesus by living a life of service in both formal and informal ways, on a Sunday and during the week. But serving often brings with it, fatigue, doubt, stress and frustration. This is why we need to always remember why we do what we do.
Easter is a great reminder of this. We serve, because Jesus first served us. The Son of God, came in the flesh, to die the death that we deserved, so that we could enjoy the fullness of God's grace. Jesus has rescued us from death and hell. What could we possibly give him back in return? We can never pay back what we owe and Jesus isn't asking us to. But can we not give him more of our hearts? Another hour of our week?
When you remember what Jesus has done for us, it's hard to not love him and desire to do his work more. I look forward to reflecting on these things more over Easter. In the meantime, here's a few things to be aware of.
Easter Gatherings
We will continue Matthew's gospel as it takes us to the cross and beyond. On Friday, we will consider the betrayal of Jesus, remembering him who was thoroughly forsaken for our sake. On Sunday, it will be the faithfulness of God, in Jesus' resurrection from the dead.
I encourage you to invite friends and family. A reminder that Gatherings are 9am Friday and 9am Sunday.
Budget
A short budget update. As often happens, giving is a bit down at the start of the year. We budget for approximately $15,000 per month internal giving. We have averaged $13,000. Obviously, there's a few things going on (petrol prices!).
Can I encourage you though, particularly if you aren't currently giving at Village, to reflect on Christ's generosity to you and to set up a weekly/fortnightly giving.

Church Camp 2026 Talks
For those that weren't able to make Church Camp or would just like to hear the talks again, you can find them using the link below. I encourage us to keep reflecting on what it means to be Jesus' Lampstands in our community and to shine brightly, fuelled by love and truth.
Church Camp Talks
That's it for this month Village. I continue to be encouraged by the work God is doing in our midst and in you. Keep standing firm and let's do the work of the Lord together this year.
